One case of COVID-19 confirmed in LaSalle County, a female in her teens


SPRINGFIELD – LaSalle County has its first case of COVID_19. On Thursday, Governor J.B. Pritzker and Illinois Department of Public Health announced 136 more cases in 22 counties, including one case in LaSalle County. According to the LaSalle County Health Department, the case is a female in her teens without a history of travel to an affected area and no connection to a known case of COVID_19. The individual is recovering at home in isolation and official are not releasing the city in which she resides.
In addition, three deaths have been reported: a Will County resident in his 50s, a cook county resident in her 80s and a Florida resident visiting Sangamon County. This brings the total number of positive cases in Illinois to 422 and four deaths in total. Pritzker says more testing will be available. As of Wednesday more than 1,000 COVID_19 tests were issues out and will eventually increase to 2,000 tests per day.
