CHICAGO – 1,454 people tested positive for Covid-19, according to Governor J.B. Pritzker Saturday. At his daily press conference, the governor and public health officials said that over 33 people have died from the disease in the past 24 hours. Of the 33 deaths, the vast majority, 31 of them, were reported in Cook and neighboring suburban counties. In our area, the state said that Lee County reported its first case as a person in the county has now tested positive. Lee County health officials reported that case 2 days ago. LaSalle County also has reported its 7th positive case of coronavirus.
