Seventh Confirmed COVID-19 Case in Bureau County

A seventh resident of Bureau County has tested positive for COVID-19. A man in his 90’s was screened and tested by an area hospital. Public health officials were notified of a positive test, according to state and local public health protocol. The individual is hospitalized at this time.

Public health officials are in the beginning stages of the investigation and are working to identify individuals who were in contact with the case. Federal privacy restrictions prohibit the release of any additional information regarding this case.

This is the seventh confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bureau County and the ninth in counties served by the Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Departments. The first case was reported in Marshall County on March 23rd.  A second confirmed case in Marshall County was reported earlier this week. There have been no reported confirmed cases of Covid 19 in Putnam County.
