SPRINGFIELD – Many Illinois State Parks will open beginning the first of May, including the I&M Canal and Shabbona Lake State Park. Starved Rock State Park, however, will remain closed. This all comes as part of Gov. Pritzker’s stay-at-home modifications, which also requires all individuals older than 2 years old to wear masks in public places if they are unable to remain six feet apart.
