CHICAGO – Governor J.B Pritzker announced 2,994 new cases of the coronavirus, and 63 additional deaths. Over 19,000 tests were performed the Governor announced on Sunday, and so far during the pandemic, over 61,000 Illinoisans have been officially reported as having contracted the virus. Of the 63 new deaths, the vast majority, 54 people, came from the Chicago area. Four deaths were reported in the Rockford area, and 3 in the St. Louis metro east counties.
