NAPERVILLE – The Exchange Club of Naperville, organizers of the 2020 Ribfest, have announced that the 33rd annual festival is cancelled this year due to COVID-19 related concerns. This would have been the first time the festival would be held in Romeoville as opposed to Naperville, but organizers will soon begin planning for 2021. As the festival also acts as a fundraiser for agencies that work towards the prevention of child abuse and domestic violence, Bob Black, Chair of Ribfest, stated Monday that “the greatest disappointment is the impact of not being able to raise funds through Ribfest this year for those deserving nonprofit organizations.” Set to headline the 2020 festival were bands such as Styx and REO Speedwagon.
