FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) — A Virginia family that set out for a ride to check out the green scenery ended up checking out a scene full of green — as in cash money. David and Emily Schantz say they left their home in Carolina County with their kids last Saturday. On the way out of town, their pickup truck rolled over what they thought was a plastic bag. They doubled back for the bag, found another — and threw them both in the back of their pickup truck. When they returned home, they found the bags were full of cash. How much? Sheriff’s officials say nearly $1 million. A sheriff’s official says he knows where the money was headed — though not how it ended up on the road. But he says — he hopes the recipients offer the family a nice reward.
