Restaurants should tie down structures ahead of storms

OTTAWA – The remnants of Cristobal will hit north central Illinois with high winds Tuesday afternoon, and that could spell trouble for restaurants who have erected tents and canopies to comply with the new guidelines for dining after the worldwide coronavirus pandemic. The storm is expected to have wind gusts upwards of 50 mph from the south-southeast through Wednesday morning. Authorities warn that temporary facilities could become damaged if not anchored down. Portions of western Illinois along the Mississippi river are expected to see heavy rainfall.
