BUREAU – A woman is dead after a house fire Tuesday evening in Bureau County. The Bureau County Sheriff’s Office said that after 7:30 PM they were called to the 100 block of South Peoria Street in Bureau for a reported house fire with someone trapped inside. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, however the resident was unable to be saved. According to the Bureau County Coroner, 71-year-old Sylvia J. Johnson was found to have died in the fire. The blaze is still under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Bureau County Coroner’s Office.
