SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,018 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, along with 20 additional deaths. There have currently been a total of 150,450 cases of coronavirus in the state since the start of the pandemic, with 7,119 total deaths. The IDPH recently released guidelines for youth sports on their website, which include frequent hand washing and sanitizing, and setting aside specific designated areas for spectators with 20% capacity.
