Studstill Media

MORRIS – Grundy County has been moved into the Warning stage due to rising COVID-19 infections according to the public health indicators listed by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The warning was triggered by the IDPH reporting Saturday 5.5% of ER visits for residents of the county with COVID-19 like symptoms and a new case count of 79 infections per 100,000 people.  The goals set by the state are not having ER visits increase in frequency by 20% or more than the previous week and 50 or less new infections per 100,000 people over the previous seven days.

Grundy County has recorded 316 infected residents and six deaths since the pandemic began.
