WEST BROOKLYN – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that one person died after a two-vehicle collision in West Brooklyn in late July. 67 year old Richard Foster of Mendota was driving southbound on Route 251 on July 26th when he struck a stopped vehicle occupied by Denise Pennington, 67, of Mendota. Pennington died on July 27th, and the cause of death has not yet been released by the LaSalle County coroner. Richard Foster was charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Improper Lane Usage, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
