SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois High School Association will be having a meeting today to discuss COVID-19, but Governor J.B. Pritzker on Tuesday moved Basketball from the medium risk to high risk category for COVID-19 transmission, effectively putting the sport on hold statewide. The IDPH did allow cheerleading and dance to continue, moving them from medium risk to a low risk if proper social distancing is followed. The meeting will also consider the future of athletics for the rest of the 2020-2021 school year.
