OGLESBY – The Illinois Valley Community College board’s audit finance committee last Wednesday reviewed the tentative $12.8 million tax levy request for 2020 which is up three percent over the actual 2019 levy extension of $12.4 million. They say that homeowners should not see an increase in the IVCC portion of their property tax bill. The estimated 2020 tax rate is down slightly from 2019. IVCC levies taxes in all or parts of eight counties: La Salle, Bureau, Putnam, Marshall, Lee, Livingston, Grundy and DeKalb. The trustees will vote for final approval Dec. 10.
