SPRINGFIELD – 10,526 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed by the Illinois Department of Public Health in addition to 148 new coronavirus related deaths. Included in those deaths were 5 individuals from LaSalle County. Since the start of the pandemic, 770,088 cases have been reported by the IDPH as well as 12,974 related deaths. As of Thursday evening, 5,453 individuals throughout the state were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19 with 1,153 of those in the ICU.
