SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed 8,691 new cases of coronavirus. There have been a total of 796,264 cases since the start of the pandemic statewide. In addition to the cases, 90 additional deaths were reported by the IDPH as well, making 13,343 deaths in total since the start of the pandemic. The IDPH confirmed that 5,190 individuals were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19 as of Sunday with 1,123 in the ICU.
