DIXON – A Dixon man is dead after a rural two vehicle crash in Lee County on Thursday afternoon. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, they were called around 3:30 PM to the intersection of Timber Creek Road and Illinois 26 for a crash with injuries. Authorities say a 29-year-old Dixon man was traveling west on Timber Creek Road when he allegedly entered the intersection with Illinois 26 and collided with a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Steven Bierdeman of Dixon who was traveling south on Illinois 26. The 29-year-old was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, however Bierdeman was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Lee Country Coroner’s Office.
