Arrest made after abuse investigation at Dixon long term care facility

DIXON – An arrest has been made after an abuse investigation at a Dixon long term care facility.  The Illinois State Police say that 34-year-old Demitri Davis, an employee of the Illinois Department of Human Services at the Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon was charged with multiple Class 3 felonies, including Aggravated Battery and Abuse or Criminal Neglect of a Long-Term Facility Resident.  Authorities say the investigation began in August, and culminated in the arrest on December 17th.  Davis was taken to the Lee County Jail where he is being held awaiting a bond hearing.

“The Illinois State Police, Division of Internal Investigation investigates criminal wrongdoing committed by state employees at any of the various state facilities within Illinois.  The vulnerable residents at these facilities deserve to have a good quality of life, free of abuse allegations,” stated Colonel Jamal Simington. “Dedicated Agents in this matter were able to investigate and identify alleged criminal misconduct and bring Davis to justice,” he concluded.
