PERU – The Peru City Council on Monday night approved contributing $100,000 for the 2021 TBM Avengers reunion and Salute to Veterans event. The gathering of vintage aircraft at Illinois Valley Regional Airport is set to happen on May 14th-15th. Thousands have attended the air show and veterans salute each year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was not able to happen in 2020. The funds will help offset fuel, appearance fees and lodging costs.
“That is a great event in the city and hopefully this year it will happen.” said Mayor Harl.
