LASALLE – Two LaSalle police officers were honored for apprehending a Sandwich man on the run from authorities after allegedly shooting a couple in Sheridan. LaSalle Police Officers, Luke Radtke and Tyler Slimko, were recognized by Sheriff Thomas Templeton on Monday at the LaSalle City Council meeting, for taking 37-year-old Donald A Fredres into custody. Fedres is facing multiple homicide and gun charges for the alleged killing of his ex-wife’s parents and shooting out windows at his ex-wife’s house on March 16th. Radtke and Slimko were called for backup during the search and were the officers who found Fredres in a field near the Sheridan Correctional Center. Fredres is currently being held at the LaSalle County Jail on a $5 million bond.
