Area roads receive IDOT funding for truck program

STREATOR – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a total of $7 million has been awarded to projects statewide to help with the transportation of goods around the state. The Truck Access Route Program helps upgrade and maintain roads that can accommodate 80,000 lb designated routes. In Streator, East 12th Street between Smith Douglass Road and Route 23 is slated for improvements, as is County Highway 2 in LaSalle County between US Route 34 and US 52. The McNabb Blacktop in Putnam County between Illinois Route 89 and the LaSalle County Line is also on the list of planned projects.
