OTTAWA – A Machesney Park man is in custody and one subject is still at large after a high speed chase Friday morning in LaSalle County. Just after midnight the Illinois State Police and LaSalle County Deputies responded to a business in Tonica for a report of a man with a gun, and while en route they were informed the subject left in a vehicle. Deputies attempted a stop on the vehicle on I-39 northbound, where the high speed pursuit allegedly began, with speeds going in excess of 100 mph. The chase continued east on US Route 6 where the suspect crashed west of Ottawa after leaving the roadway. An unknown passenger fled on foot, and the driver, 38-year-old Brad M. Johnson was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding and multiple other citations. Johnson was taken to the LaSalle County Jail where he is awaiting bond.
