PERU – k9 Miko is retiring from the Peru Police Department. According to the Peru Police Department, K9 Miko and his handler Officer Matt Peters have been a huge asset over the past 6.5 years. K9 Miko has served citizens of Peru since 2014. In his time with the department, his work has resulted in numerous high-level narcotics and currency seizures as well as the tracking and apprehension of fleeing felons. K9 Miko will retire to Officer Peters home where he and his wife will welcome him as a member of their family. Miko’s last shift was April 11th and since has already enjoyed his cuddles on the couch and playing with toys whenever he wants. Miko will be missed by the department.
