LOSTANT – A man is in custody after allegedly taking police officers on a vehicle pursuit and striking a squad car in LaSalle County on Monday. According to the Lostant Police Department, on Monday afternoon, they pursued a truck driven by 38-year-old James Tracy after reports of erratic driving in Lostant. Police say during the chase Tracy reportedly struck a Lostant Patrol Vehicle and at some point during the chase, allegedly veered towards two officers on foot attempting to stop the vehicle. Tracy was eventually apprehended by the Illinois State Police on I-80 mile marker 81. Tracy was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges including Aggravated Fleeing and Attempting to Elude as well as Criminal Damage to Property.
