MORRIS – A Plainfield man is dead after a four vehicle crash on Interstate 80 on Friday. The Illinois State Police say around 3:30 PM in Grundy County three tractor trailers and a car were involved in a collision in the eastbound lanes after at least two trucks reportedly struck stopped vehicles in traffic. Authorities say 61-year-old Gregory N. Hartwig was extricated from his tractor trailer and taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
