Mendota FFA and members honored at State Convention

MENDOTA – The Mendota FFA chapter were recognized during the 93rd annual Illinois FFA State Convention, winning chapter and group honors. Jack Beetz was recognized for Diversified Crop Production Placement Proficiency in the state and received his State FFA Degree. Also honored was Elizabeth Schillinger, who received her State FFA Degree during the convention proceedings. The State FFA Degree is the third degree that FFA members can earn during their high school career and the highest honor bestowed on a member by the Illinois Association FFA. The Mendota FFA chapter was also honored for coordinating a local campaign for the Illinois Foundation FFA, which raised $3,000. National FFA Eastern Region Vice President and Illinois FFA alumna Miriam Hoffman addressed attendees and new officers were also elected and installed at the event.
