The only way this could have been less intimidating is if the guy’s weapon of choice was a flint and some dry tinder.
A 41-year-old man in Japan tried to rob a store the other day . . . by threatening the cashier with a LIGHTER.
He walked in . . . pulled out a lighter . . . lit it . . . and told the cashier to give him all the money in the register, or he’d burn him.
It’s not clear if he was also threatening to set the store on fire. But it doesn’t sound like he had an accelerant like gasoline. He just had the lighter.
The cashier refused to give him any money and called the police. And when the cops got there, the guy threatened THEM with the lighter too.
He’s facing charges for attempted robbery, assaulting a police officer, and obstructing justice.
