MENDOTA – A new internet provider will be coming to Mendota that is capable of faster speeds than currently available. SURF Air Wireless LLC made a brief presentation Monday night at the Mendota City Council Meeting. The LaPorte, Indiana company already has an agreement with the community of Rock Falls for high speed internet for businesses and residents. The council voted to approve a ‘Right-of-Way’ agreement and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation with the company. The company will be installing underground fiber to potentially every home and business in the community. They’ll be offering speeds up to 500 Mbps for around $70 a month.
