STREATOR – Former council member Tara Bedei, took the oath of office to be Streator’s mayor on Tuesday afternoon at city hall. Bedei will serve as mayor until 2023’s municipal election. The city is now accepting applications for the chair Bedei leaves open on the council. Interested people can send a letter of interest as well as their resume to city hall now through January 21st at 1 pm.
