Mendota Police Officer and Army Reservist to be deployed to Africa

 

MENDOTA – The Mendota Police Department will have an officer on leave for over a year for military duty.  On Thursday Officer Abram Yucus, an E4 Specialist with the United States Army Reserve, will be leaving for Texas to drill and train for thirty days before deployment to Africa for a year. He will be serving with the 404th M.E.B. Maneuvering Enhancement Brigade Combat Engineering Unit on active duty.  Police Chief Gregory Kellen said “He is a fine young man, he’s a dedicated and wonderful soldier and we are going to miss him dearly.”
