Streator High School goes mask optional

STREATOR – Beginning today masks are optional for students at Streator High School.

At a special meeting on Monday night, the Streator High School Board voted in favor of a Sangamon County Judge’s ruling against school mask mandates. The decision made by Judge Rylene Grischow last week was in response to a lawsuit involving parents and teachers from over 150 districts. The Streator High School Board is just one of the many district boards in Illinois that have followed Sangamon County, despite not being listed in the lawsuit.

Governor Pritzker has asked the Illinois Attorney General’s office for an immediate appeal of Judge Grischow’s decision.
