MENDOTA – The next big public artwork display in Mendota reached an important milestone, with over half of the funding already raised for the half sized replica of an important building in the city’s history. Michelle Wade spoke Tuesday night, giving an update to the community and donors about the “Raise The Depot” installation that will be constructed on the wall of her business, Triple Service, along Illinois Ave. Artist Ray Paseka will begin painting the over 120 foot wide piece soon, with a planned unveiling during the 75th annual Mendota Sweet Corn Festival this summer.
