MENDOTA – The yearly cost of gaming machines is on the rise in the city of Mendota. The Mendota City Council on Tuesday night unanimously approved the increase in fees from $25 to $250 per terminal. A push tax on gaming terminals was also approved, charging establishments one cent per play on the gambling machines. There are currently 116 video gaming terminals in Mendota. In 2021 the machines netted over $200,000 in income to the city in taxes.
