SYCAMORE – The Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office K9 Maverick has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from a non-profit organization. Maverick received his vest this week thanks to Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Maverick’s vest was sponsored by Geraldine O’Shannon of Niantic, CT and embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Babe Muksian”. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 4,563 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million, made possible by both private and corporate donations.
