Tri-Dent arrests Ottawa man a second time for drug and firearms charges

OTTAWA – The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team on Wednesday arrested an Ottawa man for the second time this year on drug and firearms charges. They say they obtained a search warrant for a home in the 1100 Block of 4H road in an ongoing investigation into narcotic sales. Arrested was 45-year-old Christopher K. Cunico, who allegedly attempted to try to flee on foot, and 28-year-old Holly E. Hays. During a search of the residence, agents allegedly found approximately thirty grams of purported methamphetamines and a loaded hand gun. Cunico was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, a Class X Felony, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, a Class 3 Felony, Resisting a Police Officer and Unlawful Use of Weapons. Hays was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. Both were taken to the LaSalle County Jail. Tri-DENT previously executed a search warrant at that address in January. Cunico was charged at that time for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and was out on a $100,000 bond. Tri-DENT consists of LaSalle, Streator, Princeton, Oglesby, Ottawa and Mendota Police Departments along with LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam County Sheriff’s Offices.
