LASALLE – The city of LaSalle made clarifications to its special events permits to allow for extended music hours and possibly increase the allowed decibel readings. Now that warmer weather is upon us, bars and other establishments, like the Hegelar Carus Mansion, are requesting special event permits this summer to allow for outdoor music, extended hours, and the potential for increased volume. The LaSalle City Council voted 5-2 on the clarified ordinance. Per the city’s reviewed ordinance, the council may put restrictions on the granting of the permit. Some parameters of the permit include location and zoning, decibel level request, the time frame of the event, and the past history of the applicant.  Council approved a special events permit for the Carus Mansion’s live music on Fridays in the summer beginning in June.
