Motorcyclist identified in fatal DeKalb County crash

MALTA – The Malta man that was killed after a two vehicle crash in DeKalb County Tuesday has been identified. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 5 PM they were called to the intersection of South Malta Road and University Road for the collision between an eastbound motorcycle and a westbound passenger vehicle. Authorities say the westbound vehicle allegedly turned south, striking the oncoming motorcycle head on. The driver of the motorcycle, 30-year old Christian M. Elliot, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The crash remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office. The driver of the passenger vehicle was uninjured and cited for failure to yield.
