PERU – Peru Police Chief Pyszka said in a news release that residents have been receiving calls from a local number claiming to be a local number giving estimates to repair recent storm damage. The scam callers claim to already have your personal information and ask you to confirm it. Authorities say you should not provide personal information over the phone and hang up immediately. If you think you have storm damage, the Peru Police say you should reach out to a reputable local company for an estimate.
