LaSalle County farmers have wrapped up planting their crops for the seasons, despite weeks of delay. LaSalle County’s Farm Bureau President David Isermann says crops are 2-3 weeks behind in where they should be at this time, due to some late planting. However, he says overall most fields including ones with late plants in the ground are fairing well. Isermann says the crops still need rain to continue a smooth growth process. The National Weather Service is predicting, showers throughout the day into Monday night and possibly showers Tuesday night into Wednesday. The USDA’s recent Illinois Crop Progress and Condition report shows 89% of corn planted, and 75% of soybeans planted statewide.
