Man thinks stolen catalytic converters can help pay for his active warrants


A man from Memphis Tennesee was arrested after a brief foot chase after he was confronted by police.  He was in the parking lot of LKQ apparently cutting catalytic converters off company trucks with a saw.  When police yelled to him to stop he threw the saw and began to run on foot.
During a search police found 7 catalytic converters in the Honda he was driving, they also found converters in several other vehicles as well.  The Honda they found the catylitic converters were in was reported stolen on September 17th.
He claims that he was planning to sell them to pay off his active warrants.  He now faces addiitonal charges of theft of property with motor vehicle $1,000-$2,500, theft of property $10,000-$60,000 and evading arrest.
