Steve Andrews, a man in New Jersey found a ring that was engraved with 1989, on the banks of St Aubin’s Bay, Jersey, in September, and shared it on the Jersey Lost Ring Metal Detecting Facebook group in the hope it could be returned to its rightful owner.
He was able to find the rightful owner of the ring and she asked him to throw it back. She had thrown it into the ocean after a bad divorce and never wanted to see it again. He told her he would the next time he was there.
