OTTAWA — The Ottawa Pirate Poms Dance Team competed at Washington High School this weekend in the 2A Division and took home sixth place, which also qualified them for the state competition. This Friday they will take on the other 29 top teams for the State Championship title at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.
The team is coached by Alaina Weatherford and includes juniors Mia Abernathy, Caroline Cooney, Cabella DeBernardi, Natalie Dyche, Sophie Fernandez, Melanie Kaminski, Lilly Samolitis, and Melanie Stisser. Sophomores Sienna Banushi, Macie Hart, Raygan Hatfill, Maddie Kerestes, Maggie Kidder, and Kaylee Monroe. Freshmen Maddie Anderson, Finley Gross, Bella Hart, Maya Martin, Aubrey Maubach, and Madi Theissen.
