LASALLE – The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency is announcing the issuance of water infrastructure loans to communities across the state, including an over $2 million dollar investment for the City of LaSalle. The city will use the funding to make various improvements to the community water system, including the replacement of the current chlorination system and improvement of the pressure filter system. A low interest loan of $2,526,599.67 was awarded, with $1,250,000.00 of the loan forgiven by the state.
“In the first half of fiscal year 2023, Illinois EPA has already invested nearly $146 million in our state’s drinking water and wastewater infrastructure,” said Illinois EPA Director John J. Kim.
