Tacoma man causes explosion while siphoning gas

TACOMA, WA —  A 30-year-old man in Tacoma, Washington had stolen a vehicle, however, it was low on gas.  He stopped at a random home and tried to siphon gas from a vehicle parked there while smoking a cigarette.  An ember sparked the gas and started a fire.  The man was able to get away, however, the vehicle he was trying to get the gas from exploded, totaling the car and damaging the siding on the home.  The man fled in another stolen vehicle with a female driver.  The police had an image of the guy from a surveillance camera, and with help from the public, they closed in on him.  He was arrested in a stolen vehicle, a different one than the one that ran out of gas.
