Warm embrace from police officer makes all the difference

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — Police pulled a man over in Macomb County for a routine wellness check after calls reporting the man had passed out behind the wheel on the side of the snowy highway.  The driver explained to the officer that he was driving into work “and had to pull over because he was feeling down and just needed a break.”  When the officer asked if there was anything he could do for him the man simply replied he could use a hug.  The officer told him that he definitely could do that for him and that it sounds like he just needs a break from life’s stressors.  Body cam footage shows him leaning in for the hug and the man shedding a few tears.
