STREATOR – Streator Township High School Board officials are reconsidering the type of roofing for its sports complex. On Tuesday night, Superintendant
Scott Cameron relayed to board members that bids for metal roofing came back over budget. He says their initial budget estimate for the project amounted from $85,000 to 95,000, however, bids came back ranging from 136 to 224,000 dollars. It was recommended to rebid the project with 30-year shingle roofing instead. The project which is expected to begin in the summer of next year is being funded in part by a 50/50 school maintenance grant.
