PERU – A neighbor assisted Peru Police and the Peru Fire Department Sunday search a home minutes after a fire was spotted. Around 1 PM a call was received of a home on fire on the west side. Peru, LaSalle, Oglesby and Spring Valley along with EMS from Peru Ambulance all responded to the scene and quickly brought the fire under control, which had reportedly burned through the roof. No injuries were reported on a day that saw record high temperatures approaching 100 degrees.
