MENDOTA – OSF HealthCare Saint Paul and Saint Elizabeth Medical Center will be accepting non-working Christmas lights this year to reduce landfill waste. Eagle Recycling in Galva partnered to accept the lights which can be stripped down to raw materials and can be reused to make new products. Last year, the final collection total was slightly more than 3,000 pounds of broken lights.Drop-off boxes are located in the main lobbies of OSF Saint Paul in Mendota and Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Drop offs will run through January 10th.
