AURORA – An Aurora man has been arrested after he allegedly fired a gun to celebrate the new year holiday, striking a sleeping man blocks away. The Aurora Police Department say that 48-year-old Miguel Reyes admitted to detectives that he fired multiple rounds from a handgun at midnight. Authorities claim to have recovered 30 shell casings from outside of his home. The subject who was shot was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Reyes was charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Reckless Conduct, both class 4 felonies.
