PONTIAC – The Livingston County Family Care Center in Pontiac is set to close at the end of the year. The medical clinic, opened in 1993, provided free medical services to uninsured residents thanks to support from donors, community partners and volunteers. In a press release this week, they said that the Board of Directors made the decision that donations received by the clinic would be directed to other charitable organizations to best serve Livingston County’s communities. The clinic reportedly had less need for the services they offer due to the increase of insurance availability.
